This
presentation will focus on the orthodontic treatment outcome
of different procedures and appliances used by the author.
Attention will be paid to the efficiency of the appliances,
their patient acceptance, the chair time needed, breakages
and necessary readjustments. The clinical procedures presented
will be those needed for anchorage, removable as well as fixed,
the application of a systemized fixed appliance and retention
procedures. Long - term clinical evaluations will be presented
and discussed in relation to the appliances used.

Speaker: Professor Lennart Lagerstrφm
Institute of Odontology, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
He received his Dental Degree from the Royal School of Dentistry,
Stockholm, Sweden in 1961 and his certificate in Orthodontics and
the Master of Science Degree from the University of Illinois, U.S.A.
in 1966.
 He
received his Swedish Speciality Board in Orthodontics in 1968 and
had a private practice in Orthodontics in Stockholm 1968-75 during
the time he also was a lecturer in the Postgraduate Program at the
Eastman Institute in Stockholm.
He has been
the Director of the Orthodontic Clinic, Halmstad, Sweden from 1975
to 1995 where he also had a part time private practice. He was during
the period 1988-1994 Senior Lecturer in the Postgraduate Program
in Orthodontics at the Dental Faculty, University of Lund, Sweden.
He was from 1995 to 2002 Professor of Orthodontics and Director
of the postgraduate program in Orthodontics, School of Dental Sciences,
Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. He is from 2003 until present
the Orthodontic postgraduate Director, Faculty of Odontology, Karolinska
Institute, Stockholm, Sweden
Professor Lennart
Lagerstrφm is a member of the Angle Society of Europe and has been
its President 1991 -1993. He is a certified member of the European
Board of Orthodontics and has been examiner of the Board 1997 -
1999. He is at present one of the Editors of the new Quintessence
journal "Orthodontics". He has lectured in many of the
European countries as well as in the US and Asia and has been speaker
at many International Conferences. He has 24 scientific and clinical
publications in international journals.
